Icy!

I am so ready for the ice-scraping season to be over. The only positive to it is that the girls are entertained by my flinging ice around their windows.

This is some bizarre weather we've been having around here. So much for spring being on the way, although you never know the way the temps have been flucuating.
This has been an exhausting week: emotionally, physically, mentally, just about in every way. Some changes need to be made, and they are brewing. Well I guess we will see what the next few months will bring- hopefully better weather and less stress!

Whatever will I do when she grows up and she's not my baby anymore? I just love this itty-bitty snuggly girl. Can you believe she is seventeen months?! Sooo tiny. EDIT: Immediately following this picture she pooped on me. Moment officially OVER. What a nice V day with my valentines...first, lunch and a girlie movie with my sweet hubby (we saw The Vow and he actually liked it too) and then some playing and cupcakes with my little valentines. I don't understand how people can hate valentine's day on the basis of it's a "fake" holiday, how nice to have a day reserved just for showing your love to your friends, family and significant other. I've certainly had my fair share of single valentines days- and one bad one after a break up and I was very sad- but for the most part I like this holiday. I've got some awesome family and friends in addition to my sweet hubby, so I am feeling the love :-)

(and I hate the argument that you should always be showing your love or whatever. I mean you can do that and still appreciate an extra special day to celebrate right?)

I hope everyone else is feeling the love too!!!

Maybe later I will boogie. Right now I am busy cuddling with my lovies. Who the daycare lady said were sweet, extremely well-mannered, and (Aili) advanced. My head may have swelled right along with my heart (just a teeny bit ;-))

I am so glad to have made sisters. These two have a bond already, and I feel lucky to share in it.

What a beautiful week we've been having. It makes me so happy. I'm happy I get to take my kids outside to play and we don't freeze or get wet. It makes me happy to play 'hop-a-scotch' with my kiddos. I hope it lasts a little longer, and I hope spring decides to come early this year. We deserve it after last year!

I <3 the ocean

Every so often, we try to do what I call "discover the local area day." We moved up here when Andie Lu was born and are still stumbling across cool places. Today we went to the waterfront in La Conner- cute downtown with yummy food, plus you go right past Snow Goose Produce which has legendary ice cream- and walked around the downtown and had lunch at the waterfront cafe. After that we headed up to bay view park, in the picture here, which was gorgeous! It's on Padilla bay, and there is also a really nice running trail I plan to come back to and hit up. It's so rare to get such a beautiful February day that I wanted to enjoy every single second of it! In the morning Jeff also watched the girls so I could go for a run on the centennial trail. Today, I am feeling very blessed to live in a beautiful area with lots of nature, islands, and ocean nearby. We still have a lot of exploring to do!
